I am still concerned about our kids and what they are digesting nowadays, more so than the junk my folks fed me back in the 50s.

Lik-M-Aid, Bom-Pops, Atomic Fireballs, Bubble Breakers, Fish Sticks, Candy Cigs, Bazooka Bubble Gum, Twinkies. …

Like everything else, the candy processes and food pesticides they use today are much more sophisticated and a lot scarier than back in the 50s when a 5-year-old Petaluma Pete was watching his 2 older sisters running around the house with Elvis buttons pinned to their hand-me-downs.

Back then, most parents didn’t know about the dangers of most processed food. Today, most do because these companies were eventually required to label their goodies to let folks know what was in there.

That might have something to do with why some of these original confectioners no longer exist. 🙂
