Hello Kids!

Back on December 5, Petaluma Pete blogged how the Salvation Army had asked him to place a kettle next to his piano on the street so you could drop your donations in there, with the goal to collect more money through Petaluma Pete than all the other downtown kettles!

I regret to report that Petaluma Pete fell WAY short of the leaders, probably because he opened his big mouth in the first place. 😉

The Petaluma Salvation Army gave Petaluma Pete a certificate anyway, even though it probably cost them more to print this document than the amount of money he collected. That’s called good public relations, kids. These folks really “get it” when it comes to that sort of thing and I respectfully request that you tell your adults how lucky we are to have charity organizations like this in our town.

I had to laugh out loud when I pulled this certificate out of the envelope because my given name took second fiddle to Petaluma Pete’s, and the older I get the more confused I become as to which one is the real deal. 😉
