Hello kids!

See this picture below?

Last week these good folks came skipping by to see Petaluma Pete because the guy sitting at the piano (and his MUCH better half) drove up from San Francisco and he is a super good professional piano player… and you can believe me when I tell you that “super good” is an understatement!

This fellow whipped out a rendition of “Rhapsody in Blue” that left Petaluma Pete speechless… So good that Petaluma Pete can’t even THINK the notes he was laying down much less play them. 🙂

This happens to Petaluma Pete a lot kids. As a matter of fact, this happens to EVERYONE from time to time and that’s a good thing because it gives us perspective and something to shoot for.

I remember the first time this happened to me here in Petaluma. About 2 years ago, this young person sat down at the Red Ragger piano one night and blew Petaluma Pete right off the sidewalk. You can see THAT video below.

The lesson learned here is that there is ALWAYS going to be someone who can do something better than you, and that’s OK as long as you don’t become discouraged and continue to improve and do the best you can.

Meanwhile, Petaluma Pete is going to brush up on his “Rhapsody in Blue” and “Handfull of Keys” before the weekend! 🙂
